About Us

Our Mission

To advance the common good and promote the caring power of Northstate communities in the ares of education, income and health.

Our Structure

Established in 1955, United Way of Northern California is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization located in the communities it supports. UWNC is a multi-issue organization that addresses the root causes of key human needs within the community—those which are most likely to improve overall quality of life and “advance the common good.”  United Way has the unique opportunity to embrace the whole community from infant care to hospice.

  • We partners with 33 nonprofit agencies within ten Northern California county areas including Shasta, Tehama, Trinity, Siskiyou, Intermountain Area, Lassen, Plumas, Modoc, Butte and Glenn.
  • Annual campaign donations support specific programs approved by UWNC Volunteers target three outreach focuses: education, income and health.
  • Programs include infant care and development, youth education and mentoring, disaster relief, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, low income counseling, physical therapy, senior services and much more.
