FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 14, 2011

Redding, CA – The Board of Governors of the United Way of the Northern California (UWNC) is pleased to announce that they have selected Wendy Zanotelli as their new President and Chief Executive Officer.  Her first day with the organization was November 15, 2011.

Wendy joins the United Way of Northern California following a 17-year career in banking, which included executive management roles in retail and commercial banking.  For the past 11 years she was COO and Interim CEO of UNCLE Credit Union in Livermore, CA.  She has served as District 2 Director for the Board of Directors of the California Credit Union League (CCUL) and has also been involved in her local chapter of the CCUL for the past 7 years.  In addition, she has held volunteer leadership roles in various non-profit organizations including the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, where she was the Livermore Event Chair and Volunteer Trainer for the Oakland region since 2001.

“Wendy is a strategic leader who has an impressive track record in administration and management,” said Jeffrey Lelevich, Board of Governors Chair and Sacramento Postmaster. “Her leadership skills, extensive experience in strategic planning and proven results in developing donor support and community partnerships made her the best choice to lead our agency.  We are excited for the future growth of the United Way of Northern California under her leadership.”

Born and raised in Redding and the surrounding areas, Wendy is excited to relocate back to her hometown and to have an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others in the 9 counties that the United Way of Northern California serves.  She and her husband, Tommy, live in Redding with their two young children.

The United Way of Northern California has been working to advance the common good in the Northstate for over 50 years by focusing on the basics we all need for success: education, income, and health. We all win when children succeed in school, families are financially stable and independent, and people have good health. By working together we can create opportunities for a better life and create a stronger community. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.  For more information, visit www.norcalunitedway.org.
